There’s something special about those late training sessions at the dojo when it’s just you, the mats, and the work that needs to be done.

This photo captures one of my regular training sessions where I’m drilling kata movements over and over until they feel natural. That’s the thing about karate that people don’t always see, it’s not just about the competitions or the medals. It’s about these moments, alone on the mats, pushing yourself to be better than you were yesterday.

Right now, every session counts. With the JKS World Cup in Brazil on the horizon, I’m focused on sharpening every technique, every stance, every transition. The details matter at the international level, and that’s where championships are won or lost.

Training as a 2nd Dan Black Belt means understanding that there’s always more to learn. I’ve been doing karate for years now, but each session still teaches me something new about myself and my capabilities. Representing England at the World Cup is an honour I don’t take lightly.

The journey to Brazil requires serious dedication , not just in training, but in making it happen financially. If you’d like to support my journey, check out the GoFundMe link in my bio. Every bit helps get me closer to competing on the world stage.
