Sometimes the best days have nothing to do with training. Today was a brothers day out in Oxford with Jakob and his little brother, and honestly these are the moments that keep everything in perspective.

You might have noticed the doodles on Jakobs arm. BRASIL and KABOOM scrawled in pen. Thats the JKS World Championships living rent free in his head even on a day off. The lad cannot stop thinking about it.
But today wasnt about kata or kumite. It was about being a normal 13 year old with his brother. Ice cream. Messing about. The kind of stuff that keeps him grounded.

Family Makes This Journey Possible
People see Jakob on the mat representing England and they see the medals and the black belt. What they dont always see is the family behind him. His little brother doe not always comes to competition. But sits through hours of waiting just to the videos of his big brother perform for three minutes.

That kind of support matters more than any trophy. Watching these two together today reminded me why we do all of this. The early mornings. The long drives. The sacrifices. Its a family journey and always has been.
Jakob is still training hard for the JKS World Championships in Brazil. The countdown is on and the intensity is building. But days like this help him reset and remember hes still just a kid who loves hanging out with his brother.
